Disinterment procedure:

Disinterment is accepted Monday-Friday between 8am-2pm.

Five-day notice required.

Pricing:

Cost for a casket removal from a plot from Blendon Central to another cemetery: $2,000.00

 Cost for a casket removal from another cemetery to Blendon Central: $1,500.00

 Cost of cremation disinterment in a plot: This price is determined by our most current opening & closing pricing: located next to “Cremation Burial” on our pricing guide.

 Cost of cremation disinterment in a niche: This price is determined by our most current opening & closing pricing: located next to “Niche Interment” on our pricing guide.

 Casket disinterment in a plot or crypt:

You must work with a funeral home if a full body casket is being disinterred.

Cremation disinterment in a plot:

A funeral home is not required. You can coordinate this directly with the Cemetery.

Disinterment of a cremation in a crypt, niche, or columbaria:

If there is already an engravement on the door, there is a fee of $500.00 for a new door.

Monuments/Headstones:

If the plot has a monument, you must contact a monument company to get it removed. The monument must be removed prior to the disinterment taking place.

Selling the space back to the Cemetery:

If you are disinterring to sell your plot/niche/crypt back to us, then you will need to follow the following steps:

    1. Locate the original deed that was issued upon purchase.
    2. Ensure that the grave is clear of any monuments and personal items.
    3. Contact the Cemetery to get the form for selling the space back.
    4. Fill out the form and return the deed back to the Cemetery.
    5. Once all these tasks are completed, you will be issued a check. You will get back what you paid for the space minus a $50.00 fee. This check will be mailed to you, and it may take several weeks for it to arrive.

     

    FULL RULES:

    1. Disinterment’s will be accepted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. A five-day notice is required.
    2. Disinterment’s will be made upon court order. Permission to make disinterment’s not ordered by the court will be given upon written order by the lot owner, surviving wife or husband, legal age children, or parents of the deceased (in the order stated) provided such disinterment is not made for profit or other reasons considered improper by cemetery authorities.
    3. No disinterment will be made until there is compliance with all State Regulations and Rules of the local Health Authorities.
    4. Although we take great pride in the quality of the interment of your loved one, we will not be responsible for vaults or caskets damaged during the disinterment of a full-body grave.
