FAQ's:
If I had a garden plot last year, can I have the same plot?
If you wish to have the same one as the previous year, please fill out the application form, submit it, and pay the fee. Keep an eye out for the returning gardeners deadline. Once that deadline is passed, new gardeners have the opportunity to pick a plot in the garden. No plots are guaranteed. You will need to fill out an application and pay the application fee before the assignment of a garden plot.
Where do I park?
There is no parking allowed on the grass in any part of the complex, including where the community garden is located. You may park on the paved driveway next to the garden or in our parking lot only.
Can I leave my stuff on my plot for next year?
If you wish to have the same plot(s) next year and want to leave behind garden items during the off-season, a new application must be submitted, and the fee must be paid first. If you leave behind anything on your garden plot without properly notifying us, our crew will remove and dispose of the items. We assume no liability for items left behind by gardeners.
If I live in Westerville, am I a Resident?
Resident means you reside in Blendon Township, Non-Resident is anywhere outside of Blendon Township's jurisdiction. Blendon Township and Westerville are two separate jurisdictions, therefore there is a difference in pricing (Non-Resident) if you don't live in the township. Blendon Township residents may not purchase garden plots for non-residents.
What tools are provided?
We provide shovels, rakes, and tillers. Tools are set out in April. There is also water available. You can either attach a hose or fill a bucket (we do not provide hoses or buckets).
Do I have to till the garden plot myself?
Weather permitting, we will till all of the garden plots that have been spoken for. If we have experienced a lot of rain, we may not be able to get our big tiller out there. We cannot guarantee that our crew will be able to till all garden plots.
The personal tillers that we provide are available for use at any time.
