Lt Lephart Recognition

Post Date:02/07/2020

On February 5th at the Blendon Township Trustee meeting, Lt, Dusty Lephart was awarded the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart by Chief John Belford. Chief Belford shared the details leading to these honors. Lt. Lephart responded to a call and found a man with a gun to his head. Lt Lephart subdued the man assuring the man no longer was pointing the gun at himself or others present. Eventually he obtained the gun from the man ensuring himself, the civilian, and other officers present were safe. All of this was done without hesitation or a second thought. As a result of the encounter, Lt. Lephart and the civilian suffered injuries. These heroic actions are the reason Dusty was presented with the Medal of Valor and Purple Heart. Thank you Dusty for your service, leadership, and commitment to our community! 84026281_3455952847809155_6109473352290664448_n84414894_3455952917809148_8895412255437357056_n
