2. Where can I take cans of deck stain?
Household hazardous waste (HHW) includes spray paint, stains, oil-based paints, and thinners due to their high levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and poisonous hydrocarbons.
Improper disposal of these items can lead to air pollution and serious health issues. It is crucial to avoid disposing of hazardous waste in household trash to protect the environment and human health.
Deck stain and other oil-based paints can be brought to SWACO’s Recycling Convenience Center or SWACO's Household Hazardous Waste Facility for disposal.
These items can be brought to one of these upcoming HHW mobile collection events:
*Special note about paint: Latex-based paints are not hazardous and can be dried out and safely disposed of with your home's trash.
